After many years working both as a teacher of art and a part time practising artist, I am now excited to be able to focus fully on my art.

My work is abstract but I am inspired by experience – a glimpse of colour in a garden; the constantly changing light on the the local landscape I can see from my studio window; or a pattern on a piece of textiles. Essentially I work intuitively, building up layers in acrylic and mixed media, responding to colours and marks I make and the feelings evoked. The layers are integral and tell the story of the making of the piece. I give titles to each painting but I like to think the viewer can engage in a journey and freely interpret what they see.
