Nancy LHC is the name I sign my artwork with, so it felt natural to use it as my online presence.
After more than 20 years of exploring art and crafts in my younger days, the following two decades only allowed me moments to dabble in creating actual pieces—sometimes not at all.
But the urge to create never left me. Those years were filled with thought, vision, and a constant intention to return to art. I developed my imaginative skills, considering composition, colour, and the balance of light and dark that brings images to life.
About five years ago, I finally found a way to carve out creative time, and that momentum sparked the beginning of Nancy LHC. Inspired by everyday life and countless iPhone snaps taken while walking the fells with my dog, I began to grow my skills and experiment with brushes, cotton buds, tissue paper, and masking fluid. I’m currently enjoying watercolours, Inktense pencils, pastels, and most recently, I’ve started exploring water-mixable oils—an exciting new chapter in my creative journey.
My “day job” in our print company also fuels my creativity. I’ve spent years working with artists to scan and digitise their work—an experience that has motivated me to pursue my own artistic dreams.
Now, I’m on an exciting, ongoing journey of discovery—taking small steps, learning new techniques, and setting fresh goals along the way. You can read more on my website or follow me on Instagram.
