Statement: Originally a textile artist I would now describe my work as mixed media. I make a lot of books, some intended for practical use as notebooks or sketchbooks others are sculptural artists' books, often made from recycled ordnance survey maps.

Statement: Diane; Heat fuses the glass I cut & gravity changes its shape - it feels like alchemy. Iridescent colours are a speciality. Sue; Nature mainly influences my work with glass. I mainly use copper foil which gives me great scope for interpretation.

Statement: I make sculptural work for a domestic setting but including vases and wall pieces. My inspirations are eclectic and include jigsaws, abstract sculpture, buildings and furniture. I work with a rolled out slabs of clay, cut, assembled, modelled and patterned. Some work is on plinths.

Statement: I work with old wood, mainly root systems of beech, oak or juniper. My work tends to be abstract, although it does sometimes contain an organic quality. The work varies in size from a few centimetres to over a metre. Current exhibition is at the Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre; April to September 2011.

Annie is a textile artist and painter. She has recently produced intriguing paintings with layers of maps, resin, stitch and dressmaking patterns but also continues to make beautiful felt accessories.

Nurturing creativity within individuals and groups as a community artist. In my own work I am currently using quick drawing styles in charcoal, print and stitch, to capture mood and movement in life drawing and portraits.

Out of the Woods Limited - John Purcell makes bespoke furniture that is unique and individual. He works with the natural grains of wood to create furniture that is more like functional pieces of Art.

James makes a range of ceramic stoneware, thrown at the potter's wheel. His work is decorated using oriental glazes and fired in a gas kiln.

Statement: Mixed media work, combining fabric, paper, stitch and print. Contemporary and semi-abstract images inspired by travelling, landscape and architecture. Also on show will be sketchbooks and work in progress.
